Hey there! My name is Emily and I am a high school Special Education teacher. Teaching is something I have always want to do. I work with 9-12th graders and teach a Pre-Algebra class. I love teaching a math class, which is weird because when I was in school I hated math. I love being able to make math fun for students who struggle with it. I also teach 3 classes of Basic Study Skills. Basic Study Skills is like a Resource class yet we do have assignments and class activities. My classroom (Room 207) has become my project. My goal is to make it a cozy place where every student can come to feel that it is a safe place.
I am also the head dance coach at the high school where I work. Dance has always been an important part of my life and I love sharing it with these ladies. They truly are wonderful and aspiring!
In May of 2014, I married the world greatest man. He supports me in all of my crazy endeavors and helps me make my weirdest ideas come to life. This year (2015) we began building our dream house and we cannot wait for it to be done! Through the process of building a home I have become an avid supporter of DIY projects. I love making and building things that I see on Pinterest.
Although, we do not have children yet (but all of our friends do), we have the best four-legged baby ever. His name is Gunner and he is 9 lbs. Gunner was a rescue, who ended up rescuing us. Gunner came into our lives 4 years ago when we wanted to get our 2 year-old black lab, Max, a sibling. Max and Gunner were the best of friends. Last year Max was diagnosed with cancer and past away. We miss Max every day, but are so thankful we have Gunner.
